The Smith brown penny loafer is the most-worn color in the range, drawn to its sharpest line. A leather strap, a clean slot, in a versatile mid-brown; and on the 722 last it runs long and lean with a slight chisel toe. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the brown built up by hand and burnished deeper at the toe and heel for tonal depth. What sets this version apart is the 722 last: the sleekest line in the range, sharper and more modern than the rounder 675. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted, one pair at a time. A full leather sole keeps it dressy.
The same brown loafer, a leaner and more deliberate line — the everyday shoe that happens to be the sharp one. Put it under chinos, tailoring, or denim on a good day.
Brown covers the most ground. On the 722, it covers it with intent.
