Your expert A question about this product?

The Miquel is a dark brown wholecut Oxford built for the long day on the foot — the formal silhouette without the formal weight. One seamless piece of leather, no seam across the upper, in Casa leather: a near-black brown calfskin with a distinctive textured grain, close cousin to Alcazar, that gives the color depth and a surface worth looking at. What defines this version is the build: the 357 last, a square chisel-toe with extra room at the ball of the foot, on a Vibram Morflex sole — ultra-light, engineered for sneaker-level comfort under the look of a dress shoe. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa.

The wholecut you wear all day and forget you have on. The Casa grain gives it character; the Morflex sole makes the weight disappear — for the commute, the long day, the office that involves real walking.

A formal shoe that feels like nothing, with a surface worth a second look.

The 357 Last

Toe shape: Square chisel · Fit: Medium · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads architectural and self-assured. The square chisel toe is the most pronounced in the catalog — flat and defined, with a horizontal cut that projects deliberate intent. It isn't aggressive, but it doesn't apologize either: this is the shoe of a man who made a conscious decision not to be conventional.

Comfort at the ball of the foot is notably superior to older lasts — there is real space where the foot needs it most. Shares the exact same body, volume, and fit as the 358, but with more drama at the toe.

Wholecut Oxford

Cut from a single piece of leather, a wholecut Oxford is the hardest dress shoe to make and the easiest to wear.

Nothing breaks the upper — no cap, no panels, virtually no seams — just one continuous surface from toe to heel. That also means the hide has to be flawless: one weak spot anywhere and the whole pattern is scrapped. The discipline is the appeal.

Worn with tailoring it is the sleekest shoe in the room and the least forgiving, because a wholecut shows every scuff.

Ours are Goodyear welted, which is what keeps that single unbroken line from going slack.

Vibram Sole

A Vibram sole is the lugged, studded rubber Vibram has been making for mountain boots since the 1930s, fitted here to shoes that have to work outdoors without looking like hiking gear.

It is the grippiest sole we fit: the tread is deep, the compound stays flexible in the cold, and it holds on wet rock and loose ground where a smooth sole would slide.

It sits most often under suede, where the pairing is honest about what the shoe is for. Choose it when the walk is unpaved and the weather is not a detail you get to plan around.
