Closed lacing, a single seam across the toe, in Alcazar leather: a black calfskin with a distinctive woven-look grain that catches the light across the vamp and gives the boot texture and depth. The Manuel is built on the 357 last, a square chisel-toe with extra room at the ball of the foot. Beneath it sits a Vibram Commando sole: high-density lugged rubber for real traction on wet stone and cold pavement, a confident stance, and a touch more height. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted, one pair at a time.

The shoe reads architectural and self-assured. The square chisel toe is the most pronounced in the catalog — flat and defined, with a horizontal cut that projects deliberate intent. It isn't aggressive, but it doesn't apologize either: this is the shoe of a man who made a conscious decision not to be conventional.
Comfort at the ball of the foot is notably superior to older lasts — there is real space where the foot needs it most. Shares the exact same body, volume, and fit as the 358, but with more drama at the toe.
A cap toe boot is an Oxford's logic applied to a boot: a clean horizontal seam across the toe, laces up the front, a shaft that closes at the ankle.
Formality comes from the cap. Everything above it is coverage.
Of all the boots in the range this is the one that goes to work in winter without a second thought — under a suit trouser it reads as a dress shoe with better protection, which in February is the only argument that matters.

A commando sole is a chunky, deep-lugged rubber sole, and it changes the character of the shoe on purpose. The lugs bite into snow, mud and wet leaves the way no dress sole can, and the extra thickness adds close to an inch of height and a deliberate, planted stance.
It is the most rugged finish we offer and the one that survives a real winter without being babied.
