The Richard oxblood cap toe Oxford puts the boldest combinable color a man can own on the most formal silhouette there is. A marbled, antiqued wine-dark red that works with gray, navy, charcoal, and denim the way black does, then adds the character black can't; it deepens at the extremities and lifts across the vamp, the whole upper shifting as the light changes. Not a flat red — a layered finish built by hand so no two pairs come out the same. Few men dare it on the most formal silhouette, which is exactly why it lands: it signals taste, not risk. Closed lacing, one crisp seam across the toe, the Richard on the generous City last. Goodyear welted by our artisans, one pair at a time, finished with the fiddleback beveled-waist leather sole — the slim profile of a shoe built to a bespoke standard.

A handcrafted shoe, the most distinctive color in the Museum range, marbled at the tannery and beveled by hand — wear it where a black Oxford would be correct and invisible. For the man who understands what the finish means and owns it accordingly.

Black is correct. Oxblood Museum is for the man who's moved past correct.

Cap Toe Oxford

A cap toe Oxford is the shoe every other dress shoe gets measured against. Closed lacing keeps the line clean — the lace flaps are stitched under the vamp, so the shoe reads as one piece from toe to heel. A single seam across the toe does the rest: enough structure to look deliberate, never enough to distract. Wear it to the wedding, to the boardroom, to the dinner that matters, and it is correct in all three. Ours are built in top-grade European calfskin over a Goodyear welt, which is why the silhouette holds its shape years in instead of settling into a soft, tired shoe.

The City Last

Toe shape: Round · Fit: Very roomy · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads classic, open, and unpretentious. The round toe makes no attempt to surprise — it states what it is with quiet confidence. No edges, no pronounced almond: the curve is continuous and generous, with a shape that feels familiar and comfortable from the first glance.

The fit is particularly generous — among the widest in the catalog — making it ideal for wide feet or for anyone who wants unrestricted comfort. The elegance comes from the whole, not the toe: an impeccable dress shoe that lets the leather and construction do the talking.

Leather Sole (Closed Channel)

A closed channel leather sole is finished so that the stitching disappears. A thin layer of the sole is lifted, the stitch that holds the outsole is laid into the groove beneath it, and the leather is closed back over the top.

What is left is an uninterrupted surface from toe to heel — no stitch line, nothing on the bottom of the shoe but leather. It is work done on the part of a shoe almost nobody looks at, which is rather the point of it.

Underfoot it behaves like any leather sole: thin enough to keep the line the last gave the shoe, quiet on a hard floor, and replaceable when it finally goes.
