The Chris is a black single monk strap — the dress shoe that says the most with the least. One buckle, no laces, a clean closed throat: simpler than a double monk, sharper than an Oxford, and in black it's the most disciplined version of all three. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, a box calf finished smooth for a deep, even shine that takes a hard polish. It's built on a refined, elegant last with a slightly tapered toe. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted one pair at a time. A full leather sole keeps it at its dressiest.

Put it under a dark suit and the single buckle reads quietly distinctive — correct where an Oxford is correct, but with a line of its own. The shoe for the man who's worked out that restraint is its own statement.
