The Adelaide is a brown Adelaide Oxford in Italian Museum calfskin from Ilcea — the refined Adelaide framing, in a hand-painted leather. The Museum brown is famous for its marbled, cloud-like finish — created at the Ilcea tannery, where dyes are layered onto the wet hide so no two pieces come out the same, a depth flat calf can't imitate, shifting between chestnut and walnut across the upper, the curved Adelaide facing catching the movement. It's built on the 358 last, with extra room across the forefoot for a superior fit. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted by hand. A full leather sole keeps it dressy.
Put it under gray or navy and the Museum brown does what flat brown can't: in a photograph it reads rich, in person it moves. The Adelaide framing and the hand-painted leather, doing the work together.
The detail is in the lacing. The depth is in the leather.
