The Chris is a dark brown single monk strap — the brown that behaves like black, on the sharpest dress silhouette. One buckle, no laces, a clean closed throat, in a near-black brown with warmth in it. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the dark brown built up by hand: burnished deeper at the toe and heel so the depth moves rather than sitting flat. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted one pair at a time. A full leather sole keeps it dressy.

Put it under charcoal or navy and it reads serious without going severe — the range of black, with a degree more warmth. The single monk for the man who wants restraint and warmth in the same shoe.
