Compared to the 722, the 675 has more body: the foot breathes, the toes settle with natural ease. Compared to a round-toe last, it still has definition — the toe has its own character. A split toe derby is defined by the raised seam running down the center of the toe, dividing the vamp in two.
It is a shoe with a handmade look built into its shape: the seam catches light, breaks up the front of the foot and gives the silhouette an edge that a plain toe never has. Open lacing keeps it easy to wear.
It sits comfortably with flannel and tweed, and it carries a rubber lug sole as naturally as a leather one.

From the side it is still a leather sole, so the shoe keeps the slim profile and the dress-shoe line; underfoot it grips on wet stone and lasts appreciably longer between resoles.
