Your expert A question about this product?

One piece of leather, no seams, finished to a mirror gloss — a black patent wholecut Oxford is a minimal idea taken to its extreme. Patent calfskin carries a lacquered high-shine surface that reflects light like no other leather, and on a seamless upper there's nothing to interrupt that reflection — just a continuous black gloss from heel to toe. The Vincent is built on the 675 last — an almond toe, a rounder and more classic silhouette than the 722, and the most comfortable fit for a long night on the foot. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted, one pair at a time, structured for a shoe meant to last more than one season of black-tie events.

For dinner suits, for black tie, for the occasions that live in photographs. The evening shoe that asks nothing of the wearer except that the suit be worthy of it.

The correct evening shoe, on the last built for the long night.

Size & Fit

This model fits true to UK/US standard sizing, so simply order what you usually wear in dress shoes or the size that appears most in your shoe closet.

To compare your foot measurements, open the Size Guide in the size selector above.

If the fit isn’t right the first time around, exchange for a different size is free and easy!

Our standard D width fits most feet. If your feet feel a little wide, go half a size up in D. If you know they are genuinely wide, order your usual size in EE: it adds 9 mm (0.35") of girth for extra room and comfort. EE pairs also come with a free set of insoles, so you can fine-tune the fit with complete confidence.

When in doubt, order the same size you usually wear in dress shoes.

The 675 Last

Toe shape: Almond · Fit: Roomy · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads balanced, clean, and classically European. The almond toe is generous — there is real volume in the toe box, well-formed and slightly domed — but it resolves into an elegant roundness that never becomes aggressive or pointed.

Compared to the 722, the 675 has more body: the foot breathes, the toes settle with natural ease. Compared to a round-toe last, it still has definition — the toe has its own character. The result is a shoe that looks serious without effort, with harmonious proportions that work with a suit, chinos, or even dark denim.

The English last in its most balanced form: presence without drama, elegance without posturing.

Vincent Black Patent 675

Wholecut Oxford

Cut from a single piece of leather, a wholecut Oxford is the hardest dress shoe to make and the easiest to wear.

Nothing breaks the upper — no cap, no panels, virtually no seams — just one continuous surface from toe to heel. That also means the hide has to be flawless: one weak spot anywhere and the whole pattern is scrapped. The discipline is the appeal.

Worn with tailoring it is the sleekest shoe in the room and the least forgiving, because a wholecut shows every scuff.

Ours are Goodyear welted, which is what keeps that single unbroken line from going slack.

Leather Sole

A leather sole is the dressiest way to finish a shoe, and the reason a good pair reads as a good pair from across the room. It is thin where a rubber sole is thick, so the shoe keeps the line the last gave it instead of adding bulk under the foot.

Leather breathes, takes the shape of the way you walk within a few wears, and can be replaced when it finally goes — this is a sole built to be renewed, not discarded.

It is quieter on a hard floor than anything else we make, and it is the sole to choose when the occasion is formal and the day is dry.
