A mustard ankle boot in bold ochre gold is not a color that hides, and this one is built to be worn hard. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the mustard built up by hand: burnished deeper at the toe and heel so it shifts between gold and amber and reads rich, not loud. Underneath, the Renoir sits on the 358 last, with extra room across the forefoot for a superior fit. Beneath it sits a Vibram sole: real grip and all-weather traction under a boot with a color this strong. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted, one pair at a time.
Put it under indigo, olive, or gray and the mustard turns a simple outfit into a decision. Bold color up top, serious Vibram grip below — a boot that makes a statement and backs it up.

The shoe reads modern but approachable. The 358 is the more tempered version of the 357: the chisel toe exists, but it softens at the tip — almost imperceptibly, but enough to make the overall look more versatile and less polarizing.
Same body, same fit, same comfort at the ball of the foot as the 357. The difference lives in that last millimeter of transition: the 358 works with more casual clothes without the toe reading out of place. The right choice if you like the chisel silhouette but prefer something that doesn't announce itself.
An ankle boot is cut exactly where the name says: high enough to close around the ankle, low enough to move like a shoe.
That is a narrow and very useful place to sit — more presence than an Oxford, less commitment than a full boot, and easy under a trouser that breaks at the shoe.
Wear it from autumn through spring with almost anything short of black tie.
Ours is the Renoir, built on the 358 last for a soft-square toe and Goodyear welted, on a rubber half-sole or a Vibram sole depending on how much weather you expect to meet.
A rubber sole is the practical, all-weather finish: solid grip, real cushioning underfoot and a wearing surface that shrugs off the pavement.
It is thicker than leather and quieter than a lugged sole, which puts it in the useful middle — enough traction for a wet street, enough restraint to wear with tailoring.
It asks for nothing: no dry-day planning, no careful route around the puddle. Choose it for the pair that gets worn without thinking about it, the one that goes on in the morning whatever the forecast says and comes back looking the same.
