A dark brown jumper boot on commando is the least negotiable boot in the range. A clean laced profile, a slight lift, a near-black brown burnished by hand at the toe and heel for depth, on a deep-lugged commando sole. Every Preston is made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted, one pair at a time. The commando is deep-lugged rubber: grip, stance, and height for cold wet streets.

For heavy denim, wool trousers, and the kind of coat that earns its keep. The boot that doesn't ask what the weather is doing — it already knows.

Our standard D width fits most feet. If your feet feel a little wide, go half a size up in D. If you know they are genuinely wide, order your usual size in EE: it adds 9 mm (0.35") of girth for extra room and comfort. EE pairs also come with a free set of insoles, so you can fine-tune the fit with complete confidence.

The 675 Last

Toe shape: Almond · Fit: Roomy · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads balanced, clean, and classically European. The almond toe is generous — there is real volume in the toe box, well-formed and slightly domed — but it resolves into an elegant roundness that never becomes aggressive or pointed.

Compared to the 722, the 675 has more body: the foot breathes, the toes settle with natural ease. Compared to a round-toe last, it still has definition — the toe has its own character. The result is a shoe that looks serious without effort, with harmonious proportions that work with a suit, chinos, or even dark denim.

The English last in its most balanced form: presence without drama, elegance without posturing.

Jumper Boot

A jumper boot is a laced boot with a clean profile and a serious sole, built for the months when a dress shoe stops being enough.

Its upper stays smooth and uncluttered so the boot still reads correct under a trouser; the sole underneath adds height, grip and a bit of weight. That combination is the entire idea — refined enough for the office, sturdy enough for wet stone and cold streets.

Wear it with flannel, tweed or dark denim from October onward.

Ours is the Preston, Goodyear welted on the 675 last, on leather or on a commando sole that adds close to an inch.

Commando Sole

A commando sole is a chunky, deep-lugged rubber sole, and it changes the character of the shoe on purpose. The lugs bite into snow, mud and wet leaves the way no dress sole can, and the extra thickness adds close to an inch of height and a deliberate, planted stance.

It is the most rugged finish we offer and the one that survives a real winter without being babied.

Pair it with the heavier leathers and suedes and it reads confident rather than formal — a shoe for cold mornings, gravel drives and the months when the weather decides what you wear.
