A rubber half-sole takes nothing away from a black Adelaide Oxford. The refined Adelaide framing — the curved facing sweeping back from the lacing — in a smooth box-calf black, on the 358 last with extra room across the forefoot. Made in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted by our artisans, one pair at a time. Beneath the leather sits a discreet high-density rubber half-sole: grip on wet ground, a sole that wears slower, the formal look intact.
The most refined Oxford framing, set up for the street. Under a dark suit through a wet commute, the Adelaide line reads exactly as it should and the rubber handles the rest.

The shoe reads modern but approachable. The 358 is the more tempered version of the 357: the chisel toe exists, but it softens at the tip — almost imperceptibly, but enough to make the overall look more versatile and less polarizing.
Same body, same fit, same comfort at the ball of the foot as the 357. The difference lives in that last millimeter of transition: the 358 works with more casual clothes without the toe reading out of place. The right choice if you like the chisel silhouette but prefer something that doesn't announce itself.
An Adelaide is an Oxford with its lacing panels stitched in a U or D shape, framing the throat instead of running straight into the vamp.
Small change, large effect: the eye follows the curve, the facing looks narrower, and the whole shoe reads longer and more considered. Most men do not know the name and every one of them notices the shoe.
Formal enough for a wedding, distinct enough that it never disappears into a row of black cap toes.
Ours is built on the 358 last — a soft-square chisel toe — and Goodyear welted, so the frame around the laces keeps its shape.
A half-rubber sole is a leather sole with a thin, high-density rubber half-sole set into the forepart — the half that meets the pavement first and wears out first.
From the side it is still a leather sole, so the shoe keeps the slim profile and the dress-shoe line; underfoot it grips on wet stone and lasts appreciably longer between resoles.
It is the answer to the most common question we get: how do I wear these to the office when the walk from the train is ten blocks in the rain. If you own one dress shoe and it has to work every day, this is the finish to pick.
