The Noah oxblood Derby puts the boldest combinable color a man can own on the most refined derby there is. A marbled, antiqued wine-dark red that works with gray, navy, charcoal, and denim the way black does, then adds the character black can't; it deepens toward the edges and lifts across the vamp, shifting between burgundy and near-black as the light moves, no two pairs the same. Few men dare it on a Parisian derby, which is exactly why it lands: it signals taste, not risk. Open lacing, a sleek low French-style profile. Goodyear welted by our artisans, one pair at a time, in a workshop in Almansa, finished with the fiddleback beveled-waist leather sole — the slim profile of a shoe built to a bespoke standard.

A handcrafted shoe, marbled Museum Calf from Ilcea, the most expressive color in the range on the most refined of derbies — the no-brainer for the man who wants to stand out without being too loud. Wear it where a black derby would be correct and invisible.

Black is correct. Oxblood Museum is for the man who's moved past correct.

Derby

Open lacing is the whole difference. On a derby the lace flaps sit on top of the vamp rather than under it, which gives more room across the instep and a friendlier, less severe line than an Oxford. High insteps fit it better. Wardrobes use it more. A derby handles a suit on Monday and dark denim on Saturday without looking like it is trying either time, which is why it is usually the second dress shoe a man buys and the one he ends up wearing most. Ours are Goodyear welted in European calfskin — the construction that keeps a shoe worn this often from wearing through.

The Louvre Last

Toe shape: Soft square · Fit: Very roomy · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads contemporary and distinctive. The soft square toe echoes the City's generous fit, but instead of resolving in a full curve, the toe flattens slightly — a touch of geometry that gives it a character of its own without tipping into formal stiffness or casualness.

The effect is subtle: not the assertive chisel of the 357, but a suggestion of squareness that modernizes the silhouette. Works particularly well with more structured clothing, or for the man who wants to step just slightly off the classic path without leaving it.

Leather Sole (Closed Channel)

A closed channel leather sole is finished so that the stitching disappears. A thin layer of the sole is lifted, the stitch that holds the outsole is laid into the groove beneath it, and the leather is closed back over the top.

What is left is an uninterrupted surface from toe to heel — no stitch line, nothing on the bottom of the shoe but leather. It is work done on the part of a shoe almost nobody looks at, which is rather the point of it.

Underfoot it behaves like any leather sole: thin enough to keep the line the last gave the shoe, quiet on a hard floor, and replaceable when it finally goes.
