Cut into a single seamless piece from D'Annonay calfskin, one of the great European leather houses: a dark brown wholecut Oxford. The D'Annonay dark brown is hand-burnished, built up deeper at the toe and heel so the color shifts rather than sitting flat, across the single continuous plane of the upper: no seam to interrupt it, just the tonal movement of a well-finished dark brown from a tannery that has made leather this way for generations. Here the Miquel is built on the 357 last — a square chisel-toe with a spectacular silhouette and extra comfort at the ball of the foot. Beneath it, a Vibram Morflex sole: ultra-light, delivering sneaker-level comfort with the look of a formal shoe. Goodyear welted by our artisans, one pair at a time, in a workshop in Almansa.

Cut from a single piece of leather, a wholecut Oxford is the hardest dress shoe to make and the easiest to wear. Nothing breaks the upper — no cap, no panels, virtually no seams — just one continuous surface from toe to heel. That also means the hide has to be flawless: one weak spot anywhere and the whole pattern is scrapped. The discipline is the appeal. Worn with tailoring it is the sleekest shoe in the room and the least forgiving, because a wholecut shows every scuff. Ours are Goodyear welted, which is what keeps that single unbroken line from going slack.

The shoe reads architectural and self-assured. The square chisel toe is the most pronounced in the catalog — flat and defined, with a horizontal cut that projects deliberate intent. It isn't aggressive, but it doesn't apologize either: this is the shoe of a man who made a conscious decision not to be conventional.
Comfort at the ball of the foot is notably superior to older lasts — there is real space where the foot needs it most. Shares the exact same body, volume, and fit as the 358, but with more drama at the toe.
A Vibram Morflex sole is ultra-light EVA rubber, and it is the lightest thing we put under a shoe.
Pick the pair up and the weight is closer to a sneaker than to a welted dress shoe — the sole absorbs the impact of a hard floor instead of transmitting it, which is what makes it the one to wear on a day spent standing, walking or travelling.
