Guillaume Cognac Calf Balmoral Boot - 722

A cognac Balmoral boot is a color someone has to build, not one a hide arrives in. An artisan burnishes it onto top-grade European calfskin by hand, one shoe at a time — pressed deeper at the toe and heel, kept lighter across the vamp, so the cognac moves between amber and copper as the light does and no two pairs finish quite alike. The Guillaume gives that color an unusual amount of room to work: closed Balmoral lacing, one continuous seam around the ankle splitting vamp from shaft, and a cap toe carrying a single line of fine perforations. Long and lean on the 722 last, with a slight chisel toe. Goodyear welted by our artisans, one pair at a time, in a workshop in Almansa, over a full leather sole with a beveled waist.

Cognac is what makes a formal boot wearable before six. With gray flannel it warms everything above it; with dark denim it does the same and looks less like it's trying.
