The Gilbert is a black cap toe brogue Oxford built for all-day comfort — light, easy, and quietly detailed. Closed lacing, a cap-toe seam, brogued perforations along the toe cap and seams, in Alcazar leather: a black calfskin with a distinctive woven-look grain that catches the light across the vamp and adds texture beneath the broguing. What defines this version is the build: the 357 last, a square chisel-toe with extra room at the ball of the foot, on an ultra-light sole engineered for sneaker-level comfort under the look of a dress shoe. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa.

The brogued cap toe you wear from morning to night and forget you have on. The Alcazar grain gives it character; the lightweight build makes the formality effortless — for the long day, the commute, the office that involves real walking.

A dress shoe that feels like nothing, with detail worth a second look.

Brogue Oxford

Broguing began as drainage. Farmers in Ireland and Scotland punched holes in their shoes so bog water could run out, and somewhere along the way the perforations stopped being practical and started being beautiful. A brogue Oxford keeps the closed lacing and the formality of the family, then adds that punched detailing — along a toe cap, or across the full wingtip that sweeps back along the sides in a W. It is the dress shoe with something to say. Pair it with tweed, flannel or a soft-shouldered suit. Ours are Goodyear welted in European calfskin, so the pattern stays crisp instead of stretching out of true.

The 357 Last

Toe shape: Square chisel · Fit: Medium · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads architectural and self-assured. The square chisel toe is the most pronounced in the catalog — flat and defined, with a horizontal cut that projects deliberate intent. It isn't aggressive, but it doesn't apologize either: this is the shoe of a man who made a conscious decision not to be conventional.

Comfort at the ball of the foot is notably superior to older lasts — there is real space where the foot needs it most. Shares the exact same body, volume, and fit as the 358, but with more drama at the toe.

Vibram Morflex Sole (LITE)

A Vibram Morflex sole is ultra-light EVA rubber, and it is the lightest thing we put under a shoe.

Pick the pair up and the weight is closer to a sneaker than to a welted dress shoe — the sole absorbs the impact of a hard floor instead of transmitting it, which is what makes it the one to wear on a day spent standing, walking or travelling.

It is deliberately the most casual finish in the range: relaxed, cushioned, made for all-day ease rather than for the boardroom. When comfort is the first requirement and not a compromise, this is the sole.
