Your expert A question about this product?

A brown split toe Derby on the 675 last trades the sharp edge of the 722 for room at the toe. Open lacing, the hand-sewn split toe seam running up the center of the vamp, in a warm mid-brown burnished at the toe and heel so the color shifts and moves. The Norwegian is built on the 675 last — an almond toe with a slightly deeper fit, a rounder and more classic read than the sharp 722, and the comfortable choice for long days on the foot. Made in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted by our artisans, one pair at a time. Beneath the leather sits a discreet high-density rubber half-sole: grip on wet ground, a sole that wears slower, the warm look and central seam intact.

The split toe detail on the most comfortable last, set up for the street. The everyday brown for the man who wants character at the vamp and room at the toe.

A line worth following, on the last that's easiest to wear.

Size & Fit

This model fits true to UK/US standard sizing, so simply order what you usually wear in dress shoes or the size that appears most in your shoe closet.

To compare your foot measurements, open the Size Guide in the size selector above.

If the fit isn’t right the first time around, exchange for a different size is free and easy!

Our standard D width fits most feet. If your feet feel a little wide, go half a size up in D. If you know they are genuinely wide, order your usual size in EE: it adds 9 mm (0.35") of girth for extra room and comfort. EE pairs also come with a free set of insoles, so you can fine-tune the fit with complete confidence.

When in doubt, order the same size you usually wear in dress shoes.

The 675 Last

Toe shape: Almond · Fit: Roomy · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads balanced, clean, and classically European. The almond toe is generous — there is real volume in the toe box, well-formed and slightly domed — but it resolves into an elegant roundness that never becomes aggressive or pointed.

Compared to the 722, the 675 has more body: the foot breathes, the toes settle with natural ease. Compared to a round-toe last, it still has definition — the toe has its own character. The result is a shoe that looks serious without effort, with harmonious proportions that work with a suit, chinos, or even dark denim.

The English last in its most balanced form: presence without drama, elegance without posturing.

Split Toe Derby

A split toe derby is defined by the raised seam running down the center of the toe, dividing the vamp in two.

It is a shoe with a handmade look built into its shape: the seam catches light, breaks up the front of the foot and gives the silhouette an edge that a plain toe never has. Open lacing keeps it easy to wear.

It sits comfortably with flannel and tweed, and it carries a rubber lug sole as naturally as a leather one.

Ours are Goodyear welted in European calfskin, with the split seam raised proud of the vamp rather than pressed flat.

Half Rubber Sole

A half-rubber sole is a leather sole with a thin, high-density rubber half-sole set into the forepart — the half that meets the pavement first and wears out first.

From the side it is still a leather sole, so the shoe keeps the slim profile and the dress-shoe line; underfoot it grips on wet stone and lasts appreciably longer between resoles.

It is the answer to the most common question we get: how do I wear these to the office when the walk from the train is ten blocks in the rain. If you own one dress shoe and it has to work every day, this is the finish to pick.
