The Arthur bourbon full brogue Oxford is a whiskey-brown deeper and warmer than any standard brown, set up for real days. Closed lacing, a full wingtip, brogued perforations along every seam. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the bourbon built up by hand: burnished deeper at the toe and heel so the color glows between russet and amber, deeper and warmer than a standard brown, the broguing catching it across every panel. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted, one pair at a time. Beneath the leather sits a discreet high-density rubber half-sole: grip on wet ground, a sole that wears slower, the ornate dress look intact.
Put it under tweed or autumn tailoring and the bourbon glows; the half-rubber means it handles the commute and the weather without changing shoes. A rich, warm full brogue with a sole for the street.

Broguing began as drainage.
Farmers in Ireland and Scotland punched holes in their shoes so bog water could run out, and somewhere along the way the perforations stopped being practical and started being beautiful. A brogue Oxford keeps the closed lacing and the formality of the family, then adds that punched detailing — along a toe cap, or across the full wingtip that sweeps back along the sides in a W. It is the dress shoe with something to say.

A half-rubber sole is a leather sole with a thin, high-density rubber half-sole set into the forepart — the half that meets the pavement first and wears out first.
From the side it is still a leather sole, so the shoe keeps the slim profile and the dress-shoe line; underfoot it grips on wet stone and lasts appreciably longer between resoles.
