The Smith is a dark brown penny loafer — near-black, drawn sharp. A leather strap, a clean slot, in a deep brown that reads serious without being severe; and on the 722 last it runs long and lean with a slight chisel toe. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the dark brown built up by hand and burnished deeper at the toe and heel for depth and tonal movement. What sets this version apart is the 722 last: the sleekest line in the range, sharper and more modern than the rounder 675. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted by hand. A full leather sole keeps it dressy.
