The Francis is a cognac double monk strap in Italian Museum calfskin from Ilcea — two buckles, no laces, and the famous Museum Calf, whose finish is made at the tannery, not printed on. At the Ilcea tannery, dyes are layered onto the wet hide so the cognac glows between amber and copper and shifts with the light, no two pieces quite the same. It's built on the Louvre last, a soft-square tapered toe. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted one pair at a time. A full leather sole keeps it dressy.
Put it under a navy suit and the warm Museum cognac lifts the whole outfit; the straps give it intent, the leather gives it depth. Your friends won't find this at Nordstrom.
Cognac catches the light. Museum cognac holds it — on the most deliberate shoe in the line.
