The Francis is a cognac double monk strap — warmth and confidence in the same shoe. Two buckles, no laces, a clean closed throat, in a reddish tan that catches the light and keeps it. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the cognac built up by hand: burnished deeper at the toe and heel so it glows between amber and copper as the light shifts. It's built on the 675 last — an almond toe with a slightly deeper fit, a rounder and more classic read than the sharp 722, and the comfortable choice for long days on the foot. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted one pair at a time. A full leather sole keeps it dressy.
Put it under a navy suit and it lifts everything; put it under pale linen or tan chinos and it does the same in a warmer register. The double monk already turns heads — in cognac, it does it with the light on its side.
Black is correct. Cognac is the one that catches the light, on the last that's easiest to wear.
