The Vincent black patent wholecut Oxford is the evening shoe at its most deliberate: mirror gloss, no seams, the sharpest last we make. One seamless piece of patent calfskin, closed lacing, nothing between the shoe and the light it reflects. The lacquered surface doesn't burnish and doesn't age in the conventional sense — it glows, hard and clean, every time it's polished. What sets this version apart is the 722 last: long and lean with a slight chisel toe, the sleekest line in the range, contemporary beside a dinner jacket. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted, one pair at a time, built to last well beyond the occasion it's worn for.

For black tie, for formal dinners, for the man who wants his evening shoe to be as considered as his tailoring. The 722 gives the patent Vincent an edge the rounder 675 doesn't — and for the evening, that edge is exactly right.

The mirror wholecut on the most deliberate last.

Size & Fit

This model fits true to UK/US standard sizing, so simply order what you usually wear in dress shoes or the size that appears most in your shoe closet.

To compare your foot measurements, open the Size Guide in the size selector above.

If the fit isn’t right the first time around, exchange for a different size is free and easy!

Our standard D width fits most feet. If your feet feel a little wide, go half a size up in D. If you know they are genuinely wide, order your usual size in EE: it adds 9 mm (0.35") of girth for extra room and comfort. EE pairs also come with a free set of insoles, so you can fine-tune the fit with complete confidence.

When in doubt, order the same size you usually wear in dress shoes.

Wholecut Oxford

Cut from a single piece of leather, a wholecut Oxford is the hardest dress shoe to make and the easiest to wear. Nothing breaks the upper — no cap, no panels, virtually no seams — just one continuous surface from toe to heel. That also means the hide has to be flawless: one weak spot anywhere and the whole pattern is scrapped. The discipline is the appeal. Worn with tailoring it is the sleekest shoe in the room and the least forgiving, because a wholecut shows every scuff. Ours are Goodyear welted, which is what keeps that single unbroken line from going slack.

The 722 Last

Toe shape: Chisel · Fit: Snug · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads long, stretched, and sharp. The chisel toe draws an almost horizontal line at the front of the shoe — it doesn't end in a point or a curve, but in a clean, straight edge that gives a very modern and deliberate silhouette. From the instep to the floor, the last communicates intent: this is a shoe that wants to be noticed.

The lateral profile is low and taut. There is no volume in the toe box — the last tapers gradually toward the front without inflating the cap. The result is a shoe that looks even slimmer than it measures, with that visual elongation that makes the foot appear longer and more elegant.

Ideal if you're looking for presence without excess: a shoe that enters the room before you do.

Leather Sole

A leather sole is the dressiest way to finish a shoe, and the reason a good pair reads as a good pair from across the room. It is thin where a rubber sole is thick, so the shoe keeps the line the last gave it instead of adding bulk under the foot.

Leather breathes, takes the shape of the way you walk within a few wears, and can be replaced when it finally goes — this is a sole built to be renewed, not discarded.

It is quieter on a hard floor than anything else we make, and it is the sole to choose when the occasion is formal and the day is dry.
