Your expert A question about this product?

A brown tassel loafer on rubber isn't the careful kind of brown loafer most men own. The leather tassels and hand-burnished mid-brown calfskin on the almond-toe 675 last — now with grip underfoot. Top-grade European calfskin, burnished at the toe and heel for depth and tonal movement. The Thomas is made in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted by our artisans, one pair at a time. Beneath the leather sits a discreet high-density rubber half-sole: grip on wet pavement, a longer-lasting sole, the warm dressed look intact.

The most useful brown slip-on in the range, set up for any ground. Tassels, warmth, and grip.

The Thomas in brown, for the week and the weather.

Size & Fit

This model fits true to UK/US standard sizing, so simply order what you usually wear in dress shoes or the size that appears most in your shoe closet.

To compare your foot measurements, open the Size Guide in the size selector above.

If the fit isn’t right the first time around, exchange for a different size is free and easy!

Our standard D width fits most feet. If your feet feel a little wide, go half a size up in D. If you know they are genuinely wide, order your usual size in EE: it adds 9 mm (0.35") of girth for extra room and comfort. EE pairs also come with a free set of insoles, so you can fine-tune the fit with complete confidence.

When in doubt, order the same size you usually wear in dress shoes.

The 675 Last

Toe shape: Almond · Fit: Roomy · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads balanced, clean, and classically European. The almond toe is generous — there is real volume in the toe box, well-formed and slightly domed — but it resolves into an elegant roundness that never becomes aggressive or pointed.

Compared to the 722, the 675 has more body: the foot breathes, the toes settle with natural ease. Compared to a round-toe last, it still has definition — the toe has its own character. The result is a shoe that looks serious without effort, with harmonious proportions that work with a suit, chinos, or even dark denim.

The English last in its most balanced form: presence without drama, elegance without posturing.

Thomas Brown 675

Tassel Loafer

Tassels started as a decorative knot on the lacing of a shoe and ended up as the detail that separates a loafer from every other loafer.

A tassel loafer keeps the slip-on ease and adds a pair of leather tassels across the vamp, which is enough to push it up the formality scale — traditionally the lawyer's shoe, and still the one that reads dressiest without laces.

It works under a suit, under flannel, under anything with a clean break at the ankle.

Ours is the Thomas, Goodyear welted in European calfskin and hand-burnished on every non-black pair, so the color has depth rather than a flat coat.

Half Rubber Sole

A half-rubber sole is a leather sole with a thin, high-density rubber half-sole set into the forepart — the half that meets the pavement first and wears out first.

From the side it is still a leather sole, so the shoe keeps the slim profile and the dress-shoe line; underfoot it grips on wet stone and lasts appreciably longer between resoles.

It is the answer to the most common question we get: how do I wear these to the office when the walk from the train is ten blocks in the rain. If you own one dress shoe and it has to work every day, this is the finish to pick.
