Your expert A question about this product?

An oxblood saddle Oxford starts above correct, not at it. A deep, wine-dark red that works with gray, navy, charcoal, and denim the way black does, then adds the character black can't; it reads formal in any light but gives the traditional saddle silhouette a color few people expect. Few men dare it, which is the point: it signals taste, not risk. Closed lacing, a shaped saddle panel across the instep, an almond toe. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the oxblood burnished by hand at the toe and heel so it glows and shifts instead of lying flat; the saddle panel grounds the expression. Underneath, the Martin takes the 675 last — comfortable fit. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted, one pair at a time. A full leather sole keeps it dressed.

A handcrafted shoe, high-grade leather, hand-burnished oxblood on a heritage silhouette — the no-brainer for the man who wants something from his Oxford beyond correctness. Under gray flannel or dark suits it changes the register of the whole outfit.

Correct in shape. Chosen in color. The saddle Oxford for the man who knows the difference.

Size & Fit

This model fits true to UK/US standard sizing, so simply order what you usually wear in dress shoes or the size that appears most in your shoe closet.

To compare your foot measurements, open the Size Guide in the size selector above.

If the fit isn’t right the first time around, exchange for a different size is free and easy!

Our standard D width fits most feet. If your feet feel a little wide, go half a size up in D. If you know they are genuinely wide, order your usual size in EE: it adds 9 mm (0.35") of girth for extra room and comfort. EE pairs also come with a free set of insoles, so you can fine-tune the fit with complete confidence.

When in doubt, order the same size you usually wear in dress shoes.

The 675 Last

Toe shape: Almond · Fit: Roomy · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads balanced, clean, and classically European. The almond toe is generous — there is real volume in the toe box, well-formed and slightly domed — but it resolves into an elegant roundness that never becomes aggressive or pointed.

Compared to the 722, the 675 has more body: the foot breathes, the toes settle with natural ease. Compared to a round-toe last, it still has definition — the toe has its own character. The result is a shoe that looks serious without effort, with harmonious proportions that work with a suit, chinos, or even dark denim.

The English last in its most balanced form: presence without drama, elegance without posturing.

Saddle Oxford

A saddle Oxford takes its name from the panel of leather laid across the instep — the saddle — usually cut in a contrasting hide.

Closed lacing keeps the shoe formal; that one panel keeps it from being solemn. Golf courses and college campuses made the shape famous in the twenties and it has never needed updating since.

Wear it where a plain cap toe would feel like a uniform: with flannel, with denim, with a suit you want to look lived-in rather than issued.

Ours is the Martin, Goodyear welted in top-grade European calfskin, with the saddle set to read as a shift in tone rather than a slogan.

Leather Sole

A leather sole is the dressiest way to finish a shoe, and the reason a good pair reads as a good pair from across the room. It is thin where a rubber sole is thick, so the shoe keeps the line the last gave it instead of adding bulk under the foot.

Leather breathes, takes the shape of the way you walk within a few wears, and can be replaced when it finally goes — this is a sole built to be renewed, not discarded.

It is quieter on a hard floor than anything else we make, and it is the sole to choose when the occasion is formal and the day is dry.
