Your expert A question about this product?

The Gilbert is a dark brown cap toe brogue Oxford built for all-day comfort — light, easy, and warm. Closed lacing, a cap-toe seam, brogued perforations along the toe cap and seams, in Casa leather: a near-black brown calfskin with a distinctive textured grain, close cousin to Alcazar, that gives the color depth beneath the broguing. What defines this version is the build: the 357 last, a square chisel-toe with extra room at the ball of the foot, on an ultra-light sole engineered for sneaker-level comfort under a formal look. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa.

The brogued cap toe you wear all day and forget you have on. The Casa grain gives it character; the lightweight build makes the formality effortless.

A dress shoe that feels like nothing — textured, warm, and light.

The 357 Last

Toe shape: Square chisel · Fit: Medium · Sizing: True to size

The shoe reads architectural and self-assured. The square chisel toe is the most pronounced in the catalog — flat and defined, with a horizontal cut that projects deliberate intent. It isn't aggressive, but it doesn't apologize either: this is the shoe of a man who made a conscious decision not to be conventional.

Comfort at the ball of the foot is notably superior to older lasts — there is real space where the foot needs it most. Shares the exact same body, volume, and fit as the 358, but with more drama at the toe.

Brogue Oxford

Broguing began as drainage.

Farmers in Ireland and Scotland punched holes in their shoes so bog water could run out, and somewhere along the way the perforations stopped being practical and started being beautiful. A brogue Oxford keeps the closed lacing and the formality of the family, then adds that punched detailing — along a toe cap, or across the full wingtip that sweeps back along the sides in a W. It is the dress shoe with something to say.

Pair it with tweed, flannel or a soft-shouldered suit.

Ours are Goodyear welted in European calfskin, so the pattern stays crisp instead of stretching out of true.

Rubber Sole

A rubber sole is the practical, all-weather finish: solid grip, real cushioning underfoot and a wearing surface that shrugs off the pavement.

It is thicker than leather and quieter than a lugged sole, which puts it in the useful middle — enough traction for a wet street, enough restraint to wear with tailoring.

It asks for nothing: no dry-day planning, no careful route around the puddle. Choose it for the pair that gets worn without thinking about it, the one that goes on in the morning whatever the forecast says and comes back looking the same.
