The Smith is a brown penny loafer — the most-worn color, drawn to a sharp line. A leather strap, a clean slot, in a versatile mid-brown; and on the 722 last it runs long and lean with a slight chisel toe. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the brown built up by hand and burnished deeper at the toe and heel for tonal depth. What sets this version apart is the 722 last: the sleekest line in the range, sharper and more modern than the rounder 675. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted one pair at a time. A full leather sole keeps it dressy.
