The Francis is a black double monk strap — the dress shoe with the most quiet confidence in it. Two buckles, no laces, a clean closed throat: it fastens with a gesture and reads sharper than any Oxford it sits beside. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, a box calf finished smooth for an even black shine that takes a polish and holds it. It's built on the 722 last — long and lean with a slight chisel toe, the sleekest line in the range — which is exactly what a double monk wants: a silhouette that lets the straps do the talking. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted by hand. A full leather sole keeps it at its dressiest.
