The Alex is a tobacco longwing Derby — the warmest color in the range, on its most deliberate last. Open laces, a full wingtip, broguing along the seams, in a deep golden amber-brown; and on the 722 last it runs long and lean with a slight chisel toe. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, the tobacco built up by hand and burnished deeper at the toe and heel so it moves between amber and chestnut as the light shifts. What sets this version apart is the 722 last: the sleekest line in the range. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted by hand. A full leather sole keeps it dressy.
Put it under autumn dressing — charcoal, gray, heavy denim — and it reads as though the shoe was designed for the clothes. The broguing gives the silhouette character; the 722 gives the tobacco a sharp line.
Tobacco is the wingtip people ask about. On the 722, it earns the conversation.
