A brown chukka boot gets worn more than anything else in the closet, and this is the version built to take it. Two eyelets, open lacing, a clean ankle-height line in a warm mid-brown, hand-burnished at the toe and heel so the color deepens where the light catches it. Top-grade European box calf, on the 675 last — an almond toe with room for the foot to settle. Each Chukka is made in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted by our artisans, one pair at a time. The sole is Dainite rubber, made in England — the one people look for when a boot has to work in the wet: grip where the pavement is slick, and years of wear before it asks to be replaced.
Denim, chinos, wool trousers — brown works with all of it, and the sole means it works on the mornings that turned. This is the pair that stops being a decision from October on: Monday, the wet Thursday, still itself on Friday.
