The Ashford is a cognac cap-toe Oxford — brown with the light let in. Clean closed lacing, one seam across the toe, a warm reddish tan that lifts a navy or gray suit and comes into its own under sun. The upper is top-grade European calfskin, and the cognac is built by hand: an artisan burnishes the tone deeper at the toe and heel so it glows and shifts between amber and copper rather than lying flat. That hand-laid depth is what makes a cognac shoe worth owning. Built on the 675 last — almond toe, roomier fit — for comfort through long days. Made by our artisans in a workshop in Almansa, Goodyear welted one pair at a time. A full leather sole finishes it at its dressiest.
Put it under a navy suit, tan chinos, or pale linen and let the light find it. Formal, but never heavy — the warm shoe for lighter suits, warmer months, and the days when a shoe should catch the eye as well as the dress code.
Cognac is the brown that catches the light. And the eye.
